Dog On Canvas by James Page

“After losing one of my beloved dogs last June I was searching for an artist to paint her but was struggling to find one I felt happy with. Then scrolling through Facebook one day I noticed a beautiful painting of a Dogue De Bordeaux and I knew straight away that James was the artist to choose!

From a photograph, he has captured the whole character of Daisy one of my Dogue De Bordeaux. The detail is unbelievable, I’m over the moon with it and I will be having my other furbabies painted by James in the future.

“I’m lucky enough to own two of James’ paintings. The first of Fletcher my Dogue de Bordeaux and then Lola my mischievous little Yorkie. I had so many photos of both that I couldn’t decide which to pick but on both occasions James helped me choose the best shot to show off their respective character.

James kept me up to date with photos of each stage of the process from sketch to colour, so I could see his progress, as well as checking on the background colour for both portraits.
